Bag Monster is very impressed with the news story that came out today. Bag Monster’s friends at the American Chemistry Council were able to get my family’s side of the story inserted into the California educational system’s environmental curriculum. It’s about time somebody stood up for Bag Monster in the classroom!
The story goes that the ACC didn’t like what was written in the plan about Bag Monster; that Bag Monster is bad for the environment, Bag Monster hurts wildlife, blah, blah blah. So someone from the ACC attended some meetings with representatives of the California Department of Education (along with oil company, BP) and wrote about all the supposedly GOOD things about Bag Monster’s family. AND JUST LIKE THAT, all the good stuff about Bag Monster was included into the curriculum…almost word for word and apparently, not even checking to see if the ACC “facts” were true.
Bag Monster salutes the California Department of Education — oh wait — they said they didn’t have anything to do with the lesson plan approved to be taught to kids — it was a non-profit group called State Education and Environment Roundtable that put together the lesson plan — oh wait, it was some other groups. Oh heck, since the Department of Education doesn’t seem to be certain about how the lesson plan came about, Bag Monster wants to thank everybody!
